Massage

massage therapyAaaahhhhh. That’s how patients feel once they leave our massage studio. But massages aren’t just for stress relief. Massage is one of the oldest healing arts, dating back over 3,000 years. Massages are beneficial for conditions like arthritis, diabetes, infertility, depression and more.

At Greenville Natural Health Center, the last thing we want is for you to leave feeling more stressed than when you came in. That’s why we put a lot of effort into making your massage enjoyable. We create an atmosphere that’ll put you at ease and we’re respectful of your time.

“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.” – Chinese proverb

Recharge and Heal with One of Our Massages

Swedish Massage

Our most popular massage! Swedish massage is the most common type of massage in the United States. This massage uses long gliding strokes, kneading and friction techniques to stimulate the circulation of the blood, improve range of motion and promote general relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage uses more intense pressure than a classic massage so that it reaches deep into your connective tissue. It’s a more focused type of massage that will release any chronic muscle tension or knots you may have. While it shouldn’t hurt, it’s likely to be a bit more uncomfortable than a classic massage.hot stone massage

Hot Stone Massage

This specialty massage uses smooth, heated stones for a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage that helps release tight muscles. We use basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. In addition to the stones, your therapist will use traditional strokes of Swedish massage while holding a heated stone. Your therapist might even leave heated stones in specific points to improve the flow of energy in your body or alternatively use cold stones if you have an inflammation or muscle injury.

Aromatherapy Massage

In this massage therapy, we add highly-concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, to the massage oil or lotion. Each essential oil has different healing properties; some calm while others energize. After your initial consultation, we’ll select one or more essential oils based on your needs. After the massage, your massage therapist may suggest a blend that you can use in between massage treatments.

Sports Massage

Unlike a typical message, a sports massage doesn’t focus on relaxation. Instead, this massage focuses on increasing flexibility, enhancing athletic performance and preventing and treating injury. While this massage is designed for people involved in physical activity, you don’t have to be a professional athlete for a sports massage. Even someone who is active and works out often will benefit.

Prenatal Massage

woman receiving prenatal massage
What expectant mother doesn’t deserve a prenatal massage? Prenatal massage is a safe way to reduce stress, decrease arm and leg swelling and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. Many expectant mothers rely on prenatal massage to help with back pain since choices for pain relief are often limited during pregnancy. Our massage therapist knows the way to position and support the woman’s body during the massage as well as how to modify techniques to suit you.

Dry Brush Massage

Did you know that one third of all body impurities are excreted through the skin? For this reason, some people refer to our skin as “the third kidney.” A dry brush massage removes dead layers of skin and other impurities to keep your pores open. Not only will that make way for those impurities to leave your skin, this massage will also stimulate circulation and nerve endings to rejuvenate your complexion and help prevent premature aging.
